Last term’s writing

While updating my portfolio I’ve put together some of my writing from the last term.

Writing a weekly editor’s letter for LSMedia has allowed me to promote events, the society and have some personal input on the site – I can’t wait to write another term’s worth!

I’ve covered student politics including #Demo2012, post-demo meetings and the Guild annual members’ meeting. I’ve also had a go at live blogging the Guild forums and Welcome Fair – the most hectic day of the year. With SRO elections coming up, we’ll be using live blogging a lot more so it’s been great practice. The Guild have run numerous campaigns and I was pleased to be able to cover lots of them, including Societies in Schools, Pound in your Pocket, Make the Most of I.T. and Black History Month.

Having focused on news last year, I’ve been trying my hand in other sections for the last term. I reviewed Still Life, The Second Shepherd’s Play and Josie Long’s Romance and Adventure. Helping out on the Meat Free Monday column I have shared recipes for moussaka, spanakopita and chachouka.

The pieces I am most of proud of are my interview with Dannie Grufferty and my piece for World Mental Health Day.

My full portfolio can be found here – I highly recommend contently if you’re putting your portfolio together.
